I'm not able to set up my Arlo Security Light; what do I do?

If you weren’t able to set up your Arlo Security Light, try the following:

  • Make sure that your Arlo Security Light is within 10 feet (3 meters) of the Arlo Bridge that you are connecting it to.
  • Make sure that your Arlo Security Light's battery is inserted all the way into the battery compartment. You might need to hold the battery in while you close the battery compartment cover.
  • Check your Arlo Bridge’s LED behavior:
    • Quickly blinking blue. The bridge is ready to pair with your Arlo Security Light.
    • Solid blue. The bridge is connected to your WiFi network.
    • Blinking amber. The bridge can’t connect to your WiFi network.
      Make sure that your router is functioning properly and that you entered the correct password for your WiFi network.
    • Blinking purple. The bridge is connected to your WiFi network but can’t access the Internet.
      Make sure that you can access the Internet on other devices that are connected to your WiFi network.
  • Make sure that your Arlo Security Light’s battery is charged.
    To see if your battery is charged, open your Arlo Security Light’s battery compartment, remove the battery, and reinsert it. If the battery is charged, the light flashes once when the battery is inserted.
  • Make sure that the LED on your Arlo Bridge blinks blue after pressing the Sync button on your Arlo Security Light and tapping Continue in the Arlo app during setup.
