My Arlo Security Light is set for 5 minutes but turns off after 10 seconds; what do I do?

Your Arlo Security Light has different duration settings for manual operation and for motion triggering:

  • Manual operation. Five minutes is the default amount of time that the light stays on when you tap the ON switch in the Arlo app. To change this setting, tap the gear icon beside your Arlo Security Light in the Devices screen and change your duration setting.
  • Motion triggering. When you use a mode that triggers your light to activate based on motion, the mode’s rules control how long the light stays on. The default duration in Armed mode is 10 seconds. To change this duration setting, see the following procedure.

Note: The default duration is short to preserve your light’s battery life. If you increase the light’s duration, you must charge your Arlo Security Light’s battery more frequently.
