How can I use my Arlo Audio Doorbell to trigger the base station siren?

You can set up your Arlo Audio Doorbell to trigger the base station siren when the doorbell detects motion.

Because the siren is very loud, we recommend that you use caution triggering the siren when someone might be close to the base station. When the siren is on, the Alarm button in the Arlo app displays yellow. Tap the Alarm button to turn off the siren.

To set up the doorbell to trigger the base station siren when it detects motion:

  1. Open the Arlo app.
  2. Tap the Arlo Audio Doorbell.
  3. Tap the menu icon (...) on the upper-right corner of the page to open it.
  4. Tap Motion settings.
    The base station displays in the Then do the following section.
  5. Tap Turn siren ON.
  6. Tap the pencil icon (edit).
  7. Move the sliders to set the number of seconds for the siren and the volume.
  8. Tap < to return to the Motion Settings page.
  9. To receive alerts when your doorbell detects motion, tap Motion Triggered Alerts.
  10. Tap Done.

When your doorbell detects motion, it triggers your base station siren. The Alarm button in the Arlo app displays yellow. Tap or click the Alarm button to turn off the siren.
