How do I reduce audio echo on my Arlo Essential Video Doorbell?

Visitors might occasionally hear an audio echo when they speak through your Arlo Essential Video Doorbell. This is caused when your mobile device’s microphone picks up audio from its own speaker and plays it back to the visitor during a video call or two-way talk.

To reduce an audio echo:

  • Use your mobile phone in handset mode (not speaker mode), and speak into your phone at a normal, conversational volume.
The audio performance on some mobile phones can change significantly when operating in hands-free or speaker mode, which can cause echo in the conversation.
  • Reduce the volume on your mobile phone.

Note: If you are testing the audio performance of your own Arlo Essential Video Doorbell, make sure that your mobile phone is not near the doorbell, as this can create audio feedback echo.
