What is the difference between the wire-free and wired version of the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell?
There are two Arlo Essential Video Doorbell, a wired and a wire-free configuration. Read this article for differences between the two configurations.
Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wire-Free (AVD2001). Use solely with battery power or hardwire to trickle charge your doorbell. Hardwiring your doorbell also allows you to ring an existing doorbell chime.

Installation: Wire-free or wired (to an existing 8V AC – 24V AC chime) with a removable and rechargeable battery
Aspect ratio and field of view: 1:1 and 180-degrees diagonal
Direct-to-WiFi Connection: Yes
SmartHub or base station compatibility: No
Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wired (AVD1001). Connect to your existing doorbell wiring. Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wired requires a voltage between 16-24V AC to work.
