How does the Arlo Solar Panel work?

With the Arlo Solar Panel connected to the camera and receiving average sun exposure, your camera battery stays charged, so you don’t need to worry about recharging it. The solar panel is a great low-maintenance solution for outdoor camera installations in hard-to-reach areas.

Although the Arlo Solar Panel is designed to keep your Arlo camera’s battery fully charged, heavy usage of your camera can drain the camera battery faster than the solar panel can recharge it. The 2-watt Arlo Solar Panel is designed to provide year-round trickle charging to keep your Arlo camera battery charged, not to charge your camera battery from low to full.

The VMA5600 solar panel is compatible with the Arlo Ultra and Pro 3 cameras. It is weatherproof and connects to your camera using the included weather-resistant 8-foot (2.4 m) magnetic power cable.

The VMA4600 solar panel is compatible with the Arlo Pro 2, Pro, and Go cameras. It is weatherproof and connects to the Micro-USB port on the Arlo Pro camera using the included water-resistant 6-foot (1.8 m) cable.

Note: An Arlo Pro or Arlo Go rechargeable battery must be inserted in the camera for the solar panel to work.
