Your Arlo Security Light connects to your Arlo Bridge using Bluetooth technology. Your Arlo Bridge uses 2.4 GHz WiFi to connect to your router to access your Arlo account in the cloud. When your Arlo Security Light detects motion, it turns on depending on the brightness of its surroundings.
Your light needs to be within range of the bridge and the bridge needs to be within range of the router. However, the light itself does not need to be within range of the router because it does not communicate with the router directly.
You can create an Arlo ecosystem by creating modes and rules for your Arlo Security Light and Arlo cameras. For example, you can create a rule that tells the Arlo camera at your front door to start recording when your Arlo Security Light at the beginning of your driveway detects motion.
