How do I change the chime that my Arlo Video Doorbell triggers?

You can set your Arlo Video Doorbell to trigger a mechanical, digital, or no chime when someone presses the doorbell button.

Before changing the chime settings in the Arlo app, you must wire your Arlo Video Doorbell and Power Kit to the correct chime configuration.

To change the type of chime that your Arlo Video Doorbell triggers:

  1. Launch the Arlo app or log in to my.arlo.com.
  2. Tap or click Settings > My Devices.
  3. Select your Arlo Video Doorbell.
  4. Tap or click Traditional Chime.
  5. Select Mechanical, Digital, or None.
    1. Mechanical. Tap or click if you are connecting your Arlo Video Doorbell to a mechanical chime.
A mechanical chime makes the traditional ‘ding-dong’ sound, with moving mechanical parts.
    2. Digital. Tap or click if you are connecting your Arlo Video Doorbell to a digital chime.
A digital chime can play a short melody or tone. On some models, the melody can be configured.
    3. None. Tap or click if you are bypassing the doorbell chime or if you are powering the doorbell from a separate AC voltage source that does not include a traditional chime. For more information, visit How do I activate bypass mode on my Arlo Video Doorbell?.

Note: You can also pair your Arlo Video Doorbell to an Arlo Chime when both are connected to a VMB5000, VMB4540, VMB4500, or VMB4000 base station or SmartHub.
