What is the Mute Notifications feature and how do I use it?

The Mute Notifications feature in the Arlo app allows you to temporarily mute Arlo notifications for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, or 24 hours. This means you can quickly turn off unwanted notifications without adjusting mode settings in the Arlo app or settings in your mobile device.

If your Arlo app is currently muted, a notification banner shows at the top of the Arlo app.

Important notes:

• Your Arlo app must be the current version to support Mute Notifications.
• Mute Notifications effects your entire Arlo account.
  • Muting notifications in the Arlo app on a mobile device automatically mutes notifications on any other devices that you’re signed in to, such as a tablet.
  • Friends on your Arlo account (not signed in to your account) aren’t affected because they’re signed in to their own account. For more information, visit How do I add friends to my Arlo account?.
• The Arlo Baby camera can’t be muted. To prevent notifications on the Arlo Baby, select Monitoring Off in the Arlo app, edit an existing more, or create a new mode.

You can mute Arlo notifications in two ways:

• In the Arlo app, navigate to settings and tap Mute Notifications.
• Arlo Smart with iOS only: When a notification displays on your mobile device, expand it and select Mute Notifications.

To mute notifications in the Arlo app:

1. Launch the Arlo app.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Mute Notifications.
   A pop-up displays.
   Note: If Mute is currently deactivated, it says ‘Off’ next to Mute Notifications. If Mute is activated, it indicates the time when mute was activated.
4. Select the amount of time to mute the Arlo app.
   Push notifications aren’t sent from the Arlo app for the amount of time you selected.

To mute notifications from a push notification (Arlo Smart with iOS only):

1. When you receive an Arlo notification, expand the push notification banner with 3D touch or a long press.
2. Tap Mute Notifications.
   The Arlo app opens, and a pop-up banner displays.
3. Select the amount of to mute the Arlo app.
   Push notifications aren’t sent from the Arlo app for the amount of time you selected.

To extend Mute Notifications in the Arlo app:

1. Launch the Arlo app.
2. Tap Settings.
   The Mute Notifications section displays the time when mute will expire.
3. Tap Mute Notifications.
   A pop-up displays.
4. Tap Add 15 Minutes to extend the amount of time that notifications are muted.

You can unmute Arlo notifications in two ways:

• Mute Notifications automatically stops when the amount of time that you selected expires.
• In the Arlo app, navigate to settings and tap Mute Notifications.

To unmute notifications in the Arlo app:

1. Launch the Arlo app.
2. Tap Settings.
   The Mute Notifications section displays the time when mute will expire.
3. Tap Mute Notifications.
   A pop-up displays.
4. Tap Unmute.
   Push notifications are sent from the Arlo app.
