Arlo Account Security Tips
Last updated: 02.06.2025
Here are some simple tips to keep your Arlo Account safe and secure:
Do not share passwords
- Sharing passwords can open your account to risk of compromise. If you share your password, you have no control of when or how it is used.
- Never write down or print passwords. It makes them far too easy to access and share.
- Arlo Support and employees will never ask for your account password.
Do not share two-factor authentication (2FA) codes
- Even if you lose access to your email account, two-factor authentication will help protect your other accounts from theft.
- Never share the two-factor authentication codes received via email or SMS with anyone.
- Arlo Support and employees will never ask for two-factor authentication codes.
Use Arlo's Privacy Center
- Arlo's Privacy Center is where you can manage your account, erase cloud recordings, and control your logins and data.
- You can also find everything you need to know about Arlo’s data privacy measures and obligation, such as data collection process, purpose of data collection, source of collection, cookie policies, consent preferences, terms and conditions of using Arlo’s website, products and services, and how you can make data subject requests.
Tips to avoid being scammed:
- DO NOT search for Arlo's support phone number online. The numbers that pop up are typically scams.
- DO NOT pay anyone for support. We do not charge for support.
- Enable two-step verification and set up a secondary method of authentication for both your Arlo Secure App and email accounts.
- Create strong passwords with numbers, symbols, and a mix of upper and lowercase letters.
- Create separate passwords unique to each account.
- Select strong privacy settings and opt for the least amount of data sharing.
- Secure your home wireless network with a strong password.
Please remember that our support agents will never ask you to supply financial information or to log us into your account. If someone asks for payment to assist you with account registration, support, or for access to your computer, they are not genuine Arlo Support. The only legitimate way to get support from Arlo is via the Arlo Secure App.
Need assistance? Always log in to the Arlo Secure App and visit Settings > Support to get help. Our support agents will never ask for payment, bank information, passwords, or your two-step verification code.
