Mounting your Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera

Before you mount your Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera on a wall, make sure you have found a location with strong signal strength.

Note: Do not mount the camera until instructed to do so during the installation process.

You need the following items to mount your Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera:

  • Power drill with a 15/64-inch (size B, 6mm) drill bit
  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Pencil
  • The following items that came in the box with your camera:
    • Mounting plate
    • Screws
    • Wall anchors
    • USB-C power cable

To mount your Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera on a wall:

Note: For best coverage, place the camera with a clear view and no blind spots. Make sure the camera is near a power outlet and within Wi-Fi range

  1. Drill pilot holes for the Wall Bracket.
    1. Using the Wall Bracket as a guide, mark pilot hole locations with a pencil.
    2. Drill pilot holes into the pencil marks.
      If you are using wall anchors, drill the pilot holes with a 15/64 (size B, 6mm) drill bit. Then, insert the wall anchors into the pre-drilled holes.
  2. Secure the Wall Bracket to the wall.
    1. Run the power cable through the slot on the Wall Bracket from the back.
    2. Secure the Wall Bracket to the wall using the included screws, making sure the power cable remains secured properly.
  3. Slide the Camera onto the Wall Bracket.
    1. Plug the provided USB-C power cable into the back of the camera.
    2. Locate the alignment mark on the bottom device and align it with the one on the Wall Bracket
    3. Once aligned, slide the camera forward to secure it onto the Wall Bracket. Test to make sure it feels secure and adjust the camera angle.

To mount your Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera on a ceiling:

  1. Secure the Mounting Plate to the ceiling.
    1. With the arrow pointing up, align the Mounting Plate with the pre-drilled holes.
    2. Use the provided screws to secure the Mounting Plate to the ceiling.
  2. Slide the Camera onto the Mounting Plate.
    1. Locate the alignment mark on the bottom device and align it with the one on the Wall Bracket
    2. Once aligned, slide the camera forward to secure it onto the Wall Bracket. Test to make sure it feels secure and adjust the camera angle.
