How do I train Arlo Custom Detection?

Last updated: 17.06.2025

The Custom Detection feature allows you create your own unique detection scenarios.

Train your camera by using at least five snapshots of the scenario you want to detect. The more snapshots of the scenario, the better your Custom Detection works. Arlo also suggests that you train your Arlo camera with Night Vision snapshots to improve night performance of your Custom Detection.

Custom Detection training only applies to your account and is not shared with other Arlo accounts. For more information, visit: Arlo Custom Detection and Privacy
