How to set up Arlo Cameras?

This article applies to Arlo Ultra series, Arlo Pro series (3 and above), and Arlo Essential Wire-Free series cameras. To connect and install other Arlo devices, visit the links under: Set up other Arlo devices
- Note: For best results, use the instructions provided in the Arlo Secure App for Arlo camera setup.

Notes:
An Arlo SmartHub or Base Station is required for Arlo Pro 3 and Arlo Ultra series cameras.

An Arlo SmartHub or Base Station is optional for Arlo Essential Wire-Free series cameras and Arlo Pro 4 and above.

To set up an Arlo camera with an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station:
Note: Arlo Ultra series and Arlo Pro 3 must use an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
- Launch the Arlo Secure App.
- Tap Devices.
Note: Make sure the correct Location where you want to add the camera is selected. For more information, visit: How do I switch my Location in the Arlo Secure App? - Tap

- Tap Cameras.
- Tap Ultra Series, Pro Series, or Essential Series.
- Select your specific camera.
- Follow the in-app instructions for charging and battery installation (where applicable).
- Select an Arlo SmartHub (or Arlo Base Station).
Note: If an Arlo SmartHub (or Arlo Base Station) is not installed, tap Add New SmartHub. - Follow the in-app instructions for your specific camera to complete the setup.
To set up Arlo Pro 4 and above or Arlo Essential wire-free camera directly to your Wi-Fi router:
- Launch the Arlo Secure App.
- Tap Devices.

- Tap Pro Series or Essential Series.
- Select your specific camera.
- Follow the in-app instructions for charging and battery installation (where applicable).
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect your camera to a Wi-Fi network.
