How does the Foresight feature work on my Arlo camera?

The Arlo Foresight feature records 3-seconds of video before motion-triggered events. This means that your camera is always active, but only records when motion or audio are detected. This reduces latency between a motion detection and the start of a video recording.

Arlo Foresight works with:

  • Arlo Ultra series
  • Arlo Pro series (2 and above)
  • Arlo Wired Floodlight
  • Arlo Essential Indoor Cameras
  • Arlo Essential Wired Video Doorbell
  • Arlo Q, Arlo Q Plus, and Arlo Baby

To use Foresight:

The camera must be plugged directly into an AC power source or hardwired, if applicable.

An Arlo Secure Plan is required for most Arlo devices.

  • Arlo Secure Plans are not required for Foresight on Arlo Pro 2, Arlo Q, Arlo Q Plus, and Arlo Baby.
  • For more information about Arlo Secure, visit: Arlo Secure Plans

Your camera must be set to a Mode with video recording enabled.

Arlo Pro Security Camera 2K (6th Gen), Pro 5, Pro 4, and Pro 3 Floodlight Cameras must be connected to an Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station.
