What is the difference between Arlo Q Plus PoE and Ethernet?

Arlo Q Plus comes with a PoE adapter that allows the camera to be simultaneously powered and connected to the Internet using a PoE switch. It also supports traditional Ethernet for situations where a hard line connection is preferred over Wi-Fi.

PoE:

Power over Ethernet or PoE passes electrical power along with data on twisted pair Ethernet cabling. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electrical power to the Arlo Q Plus camera.

Ethernet:

The Ethernet connection is used to connect Arlo Q Plus to a network. You can connect Arlo Q Plus directly to a LAN port on your router or switch and use a separate power adapter to power the camera.
