What is an Arlo Audio Doorbell?
The Arlo Audio Doorbell and Arlo Chime are compatible with your Arlo wire-free cameras, so you can see everything that’s happening at your doorstep. Pairing your Arlo Audio Doorbell with your Arlo wire-free cameras, gives you a better view of your entry way, compared to a doorbell with a built-in camera. An Arlo Audio Doorbell calls your smart phone or tablet to notify you when your doorbell is pressed.

Do Arlo Audio Doorbells have an integrated camera?
No.

Why doesn’t my Arlo Audio Doorbell have an integrated camera?
Keeping the doorbell and camera separate lets you combine an Arlo Audio Doorbell with any Arlo wire-free camera of your choice. You also have the freedom to place your Arlo wire-free cameras anywhere around your front door so you can see more than what’s directly in front of your doorbell button.

Can I purchase an Arlo Audio Doorbell or an Arlo Chime separately?
Yes. You can buy an Arlo Audio Doorbell or an Arlo Chime as separate, add-on accessories.

How many Arlo Audio Doorbells or Arlo Chimes can I associate a single Arlo base station?
An Arlo base station supports two Arlo Audio Doorbells and five Arlo Chimes.

Can more than one Arlo Audio Doorbell be associated with the same Arlo Chime?
Yes.  You can pair more than one Arlo Audio Doorbell with an Arlo Chime. For example, if you have two Arlo Audio Doorbells, both will trigger your Arlo Chime. You can also customize your Arlo Doorbell’s melody so you know which doorbell rang.

Do I need an Arlo base station to use an Arlo Audio Doorbell or Arlo Chime?
Yes. You must have an Arlo base station to use an Arlo Audio Doorbell or Arlo Chime.

Can I use my Arlo Audio Doorbell without wiring it to my existing chime?
Yes.  Your smartphone rings to notify you when someone presses your Arlo Audio Doorbell. You can also use the Arlo Chime with your Arlo Audio Doorbell, which does not require any wiring.

If my Arlo Audio Doorbell is wired to an existing low-voltage chime, does it still require batteries to operate?
Yes. Your Arlo Audio Doorbell requires two AA batteries to operate.

What’s the difference between a two-way conversation using my Arlo Audio Doorbell and using an Arlo Pro or Arlo Pro 2 camera?
An Arlo Audio Doorbell is a full duplex device that minimizes delay. Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2 cameras are half-duplex devices (push-to-talk) and experience some delay.

How long will the two AA batteries in my Arlo Audio Doorbell last?
The two AA batteries that are in your Arlo Audio Doorbell typically last about a year with normal usage.

Can I initiate two-way talk from my Arlo app to my Arlo Audio Doorbell?
No. Two-way talk is initiated only when a guest presses the button your Arlo Audio Doorbell.

Which cameras are compatible with my Arlo Audio Doorbell?
Your Arlo Audio Doorbell is compatible with Arlo, Arlo Pro, and Arlo Pro 2 wire-free cameras.
